1st Birthday

HOLY MOLY! How did a year past so quickly? I am astonished... that we survived :)
So much has happened in the last couple of month that this will be a little long winded. However, they have kept us so busy that I havn't had a chance to write any of it down. So, let's start with Beckett.
Beckett took his first step on St. Patrick's Day and was fully walking by his birthday. His cognitive growth has also been incredible. Some of the funny things he has done are as follows.
  • finding his belly when he is naked.
  • Wanting to do everything himself. He wants to uses the fork and everything.
  • He started to clap just before his birthday. Grandpa was showing him a cool song and he started clapping! I was so excited I about chocked on a pea.
  • Beckett started pointing to things also. He will point to what he wants or notices.
  • He figured out how to turn on the button that will turn a dancing dog on. He will sit and hold its hands and dance with it and turn it back on. There was a song that told him to blow a kiss... and he did. I didn't know he knew how to do that!
  • He will blow bubbles on my back (which tickles like crazy)
  • He found bubbles in the bath tub and wants to pop them one by one.
  • He has tried to climb out of his crib.
  • His favorite spot is the cozy corner, where there are pillows and blankets. He loves to dive into it and roll around.
  • He knows what we are saying and will ask for "more" by signing and is working on "Help."
  • He knows the end of the book that we read before bed, "Little blue truck" and will wave to the truck "Bye Bye" just before we turn to the last page.
  • Beckett loves his cousin Levi and tried soooo hard to keep up with him
Archer started standing on St. Patricks Day all by himself! He took his first steps on April 4th! He is the goofiest little boy who wants to keep up with his brother!
  • He has the cutest little squeal laugh when he's practicing walking and we chase him
  • He started clapping the day after Beckett and shocked me!
  • He will study what you are doing and try to copy it.
  • He will splash so hard in the tub that the entire bathroom floor will be wet.... and me.
  • He will put his head on the floor in a down ward dog pose and then put his hands under him to roll out of it.
  • He loves lights and wants to turn the light switch on and off
  • He loves tags! He will rub them to calm down and go to bed.
  • He hums the entire time he eats.
  • If we are in the car and I am singing to songs, he will start to sing too.
  • He does this scrunchy nose face and it makes all of us giggle.
  • He lOVEs to drink out of an open cup. As soon as you put it in front of him, he starts to giggle and then gulps it.
  • He asks for "more" and will say "All done'
  • He likes to make us laugh by making funny faces and noises
  • He will do a touch down we ask him to
  • He loves the tunnel we bought and will go in and out and giggles in anticipation!
  • I love when he wakes up from nap or in the morning because he will sit straight up... like Dracula. POP I'm awake! And he will play and talk to himself until we go get him.
  • He loves to give kisses!

They are starting to interact a lot more. When I say interact I mean.. picking on each other. Archer was doing his downward dog pose and Beckett saw that he had made a tunnel with his body... Well he went charging at him and crawled into his side... but without missing a beat, Archer tucked his arm under right when he hit and rolled out of it and thought it was the funniest thing ever. Beckett was a little confused as to where his tunnel went. Archer popped back up wanting to do it again. They follow each other around the house. They don't typically play with each other yet, but don't like being in a room too long without the other. They love to help me unpack the laundry and dishwasher. They are so wonderful at bedtime for me. What lovies we have!
